Simsey Island Fishing Rules
By fishing on Simsey Island, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions. Failure to comply may result in penalties, including fines and loss of fishing privileges. Thank you for your cooperation, and enjoy your fishing experience on Simsey Island!

Entry gate to be closed immediately after entering or leaving the island and the key returned to the key safe.

Fishing of any kind is not allowed during the closed season – 15th March to 15th June inclusive.

Night fishing is allowed subject to the purchase of a camping ticket and two consecutive dated day tickets.

Use of live bait is not allowed.

Single rod use only

No fish may be killed or taken away – all fish to be returned to the water.

Landing nets to be used at all times.

Unhooking mats must be used.

Use of multiple hooks is not allowed.

Due consideration to be given at all times to fellow anglers and others using the island for camping etc.

Strictly no open fires – above ground BBQs only.

Remove all rubbish from the site upon departure.

Our Bailiffs patrol regularly to check for compliance of rules, proof of membership, and possession of day tickets and rod licenses.

Anyone found to be in breach of the above rules may be asked to leave the site immediately and in extreme cases have their membership cancelled.

Simsey Island Camping Rules

We have two camp sites as indicated on the map above – site 1 capacity 50 people / site 2 capacity 15 people. Camping is not permitted in any other location other than the two sites indicated.

The Fitzwilliam and Wildlife Trust parcels of land are not in YUC ownership and therefore strictly out of bounds (please see the diagram above).

There are no toilet facilities on the Island so members MUST bring their own.

Please be aware that camping, fishing, kayaking, and swimming are separate activities and must be booked and paid for accordingly.

Camping check in @ 14.00 and check out @ 13.00 – extended stays maybe possible (at no extra charge) if no follow-on booking – please check with Admin via text – 07772 193128

From the A1 North or South
- Leave the Great N Rd/A1 at Wansford
- Take the A47 exit towards Peterboro(North)/Leicester
- At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A47
- Turn left onto Old N Rd
- Turn right onto Peterborough Rd
- Continue straight onto Yarwell Rd
- Continue onto Wansford Rd
- Turn left

- At the Warmington roundabout, take the exit to Fotheringhay
- Drive 8 min (4.4 mi)
- Turn right onto Fotheringhay Rd

- Station Rd turns slightly left and becomes Nassington Rd
- Continue onto Wansford Rd
- Turn right: Restricted-usage road
